Intelligent Computing–Astrophysics Nexus (ICAN)

We work on numerical methods, scientific machine learning, computational fluid dynamics, and astrophysics.

  • Yifan Li received the MCM Outstanding Winner award, the first and only recipient in the Department of Mathematics to date.

  • Yuanzhe Wei, an undergraduate student, coauthored a paper with Zheng Sun and Kailiang Wu in SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, becoming the first undergraduate coauthor in the Department of Mathematics to date. He was also the first student in the department selected for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Visiting Student Program and later pursued a Ph.D. at Brown University.
